As Meyers was introduced in his first press conference on Thursday, he patiently waited for the inevitable question to arise. It took 14 queries before a Las Vegas TV sports reporter asked about the incident.
Meyers, showing good humor and a hint of relief, jokingly expressed his gratitude for the question, then proceeded to address it with confidence. He acknowledged that he had been waiting for the question, as he knew it was an important moment in the game.
With a thud of his right fist on the podium, he expressed his appreciation for the reporter finally bringing up the topic.
The reporter had inquired about the lateral Meyers had made during the last play of the Dec. 18 game between the Patriots and the Raiders. The controversial move had cost the Patriots the game, and Meyers had since then been scrutinized for it.

Meyers, however, was unfazed by the question and took it as an opportunity to clear the air.
In his response, Meyers expressed his belief that the lateral had been a calculated risk that had not paid off. He explained that he had tried to create an opening for his teammate to run the ball, but the Raiders’ defense had been too quick to shut it down.
He further stated that he had learned from the experience and was eager to move forward and make better decisions in future games.
In summary, Meyers confidently faced the question regarding his lateral in the game against the Raiders. He took the opportunity to clarify his intentions and expressed his readiness to learn from his mistakes and improve as a player.
