Derek Jeter now has 2,998 hits. Just 2 little hits away!

He better get it soon, because it seems to be a distractions as the Yankees have lost their last 4 or 5 games.

In the history of baseball, only 27 players have had 3,000 hits. That’s a TINY number compared to the number of players and number of years the game has been going on.

I don’t see anyone else who’s playing right now that can reach 3,000 hits. Maybe Joe Mauer, but it’s doubtful.

To get there, you have to be playing for a very long time, and be a very good player, which Derek is.

People may say he’s old and washed up, but I’ll keep taking the championships he’s always a part of. Get it tonight Jeter!
